I have always been intrigued by the combination of art and science involved in orthodontics. It brings me great satisfaction to be able to help improve a person's life by giving them a beautiful and healthy smile. I strive to give every patient I see customized care and the highest quality of orthodontic treatment possible.
Education and Experience
In order to become an orthodontist, I received my Bachelors of Science at Brigham Young University before attaining my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. I finished at the top of my class with honors and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. I received my specialty training in Orthodontics while attending the Masters Program at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN.
I am always learning how to improve my patients’ orthodontic experience. Orthodontics is a very interesting profession because it is always changing and evolving. In order to provide the best services for my patients, I continue my education by attending courses and seminars throughout the year. I am Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and am an active member of several professional organizations including the:
- American Dental Association
- American Association of Orthodontics
- Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics
- North Dakota Dental Association
- Minnesota Dental Association
- Heartland Study Club
Outside the Office
My lovely wife, Jennifer, and I have four very active and wonderful boys, Jacob, Logan, Micah, and Cooper, and a yellow lab named Sookie! In my spare time, I enjoy playing the drums in my band, Rock of Ages, as well as playing golf, riding my motorcycle, and camping and hunting with my boys. I also love being the DJ at my church's youth dances! I am also a BBQ enthusiast and make the best ribs you will ever try. I have also created an award winning chili recipe!
I believe that the people that live here are what makes our community so special. I volunteer with the local Boy Scout troops and participate with community sports programs as my own boys grow up. I am also involved with many local charities like the United Way, the Meritcare Foundation, and Fraser Ltd. I am the only orthodontist in the area that volunteers with the Fargo Cleft Lip Palate Clinic. I am a patron of the arts and enjoy supporting the local theater groups like the Trollwood Performing Arts School.
